Urbanite [Urbanit] (from Latin urbanus - urban) - a building and construction material derived from recycling, consisting of salvaged concrete rubble obtained from the demolition of anthropogenic structures (e.g., old foundations, sidewalks, roads, or buildings). In sustainable architecture and permaculture, it is treated as a substitute for natural stone (so-called 'urban rock') and is repurposed for constructing pavements, retaining walls etc. Similarly, my practice relies on salvaging everyday images to construct my own visual world.
